Submitted by Wendy about her son Leandro, age 17 months
My 17 month old, Leandro, is obsessed with brushing his teeth. Every morning as soon as he gets out of the crib he screams and points to the sink until we give him his toothbrush and toothpaste. Bed time it is the same thing. Yes... it is very odd. Tonight, while the boys were settling down for bedtime, I placed both into the crib to play. Leandro and his older 2 1/2 year old brother were playing well. The 2 1/2 year old wanted to pretend to be a baby so I tucked him in the crib. Leandro immediately became mad and started to pound his older brother as he climbed over him. I thought it was just that Leandro was jealous his brother was on HIS pillow and hugging HIS teddy. No... It was not. He crawls over his brother and pulls out this adult size toothbrush he has hidden between the pillow and crib bumper. My husband says "Where did he get that!" I am clueless. I take Leandro, husband takes 2 year old, and we continue with bedtime. Leandro is holding onto the toothbrush for dear life so I do not dare take it away. We read, rock, and I place him back in the crib. Then he takes his toothbrush and carefully sticks it back between the pillow and crib bumper and lays head down on his pillow...
I will take this obsession as a sign he will be a great oral surgeon!!!

Submitted by Me about my daughter Ryleigh, age 3
While doing our ridiculously long and drawn out bedtime routine, I said to Ryleigh, "Goodnight, babygirl, mama loves you!" Normally she replies with the same immediately. This time she hesitated so I repeated myself. She finally replied by saying, "Mama, I just like you today. That's all." GAH!!
I have a feeling that was a teenager preview...
